Youth PROMISE Act celebrity video and new campaign action site launch next week

Next Wednesday, May 26th, The Peace Alliance and Student Peace Alliance are launching the next phase of our campaign to pass the Youth PROMISE Act (HR 1064/S 435) with an action-packed microsite (a mini-website) for Citizen Co-sponsors. It will feature a celebrity-filled video, an email petition to Congress and the President, and the latest social networking tools aimed at passing the Youth PROMISE Act.

Will you help us ensure that we reach as many people as we can with our innovative viral campaign by chipping in $5, $10, $25 or more today?

The action site will host a brand-new short video created by the office of LA City Councilman Tony Cárdenas in support of the Youth PROMISE Act; both the video and the site will launch on May 26th at a public event on Capitol Hill.

The video features Hip-Hop pioneer Russell Simmons, critically-acclaimed actress Robin Wright, NBA basketball all-star Baron Davis, lawyer and talk-show host Star Jones, activist Tom Hayden and many more!  The launch will coincide with a large publicity push featuring celebrity written op-eds, tweets by influential spokespeople, and the outreach of The Peace Alliance, Student Peace Alliance and our allies' networks!  

Together we will make it loud and clear that America's most vulnerable young people DO have our support.  Right now is our chance to invest in that possibility. To build on the momentum from our Mother's Day action and sustain our campaign, we need to raise $5000 -- with a goal of $1500 by the 26th. With your help we can put the finishing high-tech touches on the microsite and ensuing viral push that will take this campaign to the next level and keep it in the public eye throughout the summer.
