Grassroots Research Team Report: Department of Health and Human Services PDF Print E-mail
Download a compilation of the components of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and how its various agencies relate to components of the proposed U.S. Department of Peace.

Many thanks to Christine Johnson of the Virginia Campaign for a U.S. Department of Peace for compiling the information in this report, dated December 2008.

From the Introduction

This information is presented to highlight the roles and responsibilities of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), and to correlate them to the plans and goals of a United States Department of Peace (HR808). It is primarily a compilation of information culled from the official agency websites and seeks to help people to address the question, “How will a Department of Peace, an infrastructure dedicated to violence prevention, and the principles that sustain healthy communities, augment the existing agencies within the Department of Health and Human Services that are focused on violence prevention?”
