Ever since the Peace Alliance Foundation changed its name to Peace Partnership International (PPI) and expanded its mission, there have been many questions regarding our relationship. Rest assured our partnership is as powerful as ever!
We consider PPI to be our “fiscal agent” (as well as more than that with the good work they do). Donors who would like to contribute to the non-lobbying work of The Peace Alliance and receive a tax deduction can still give to PPI, just like they used to give to the Peace Alliance Foundation. PPI will honor donations designated as being for The Peace Alliance or Student Peace Alliance as “restricted funding.”
We will then submit grant applications that are in alignment with both organizations’ missions. Upon review and approval by PPI, those funds (minus a small administrative fee) can then be made available to The Peace Alliance and Student Peace Alliance for our non-lobbying work.
If you do decide to donate to PPI to support work of The Peace Alliance, be sure to clearly mark that designation on your check. It’s also very helpful if you let us know you’ve made that donation. We still consider you a powerful supporter of our work and we want to acknowledge you, just like PPI will!
Of course, like all nonprofits, both organizations thrive on unrestricted donations. It’s the funding that is most efficient for us to manage and therefore your dollar goes even farther in supporting our work. But just remember—the key is to give. Restricted, unrestricted, Peace Alliance, PPI…all of it helps bring forth a culture of peace.
