Holiday Parties
Getting together with friends is the greatest gift of all! And it's a fun and easy way to raise money. There are endless ideas and possibilities. Here are just a few:
- Call it "Pennies for Peace" and ask everyone to bring the change that's lying around the house or in their wallets. You can easily make a couple hundred dollars.
- Host a "Peace is Our Priority" party--instead of going out to the movies, rent one and have all your friends donate what they would have spent at the theater! Or make it a wine night and instead of drinking cocktails out, enjoy some goodies in and have everyone donate the money saved.
- On January 20, 2009, host an "Inaugurating an Era of Peace" party. Watch the inauguration on TV together and have everyone chip in $20 or more to The Peace Alliance.
And remember--parties aren't limited to the holiday season. Birthdays, anniversaries, St. Valentine's Day, graduations, you name it! Parties are a great way to spread the word and give to a culture of peace all year long. What creative party theme will you come up with?
