On Saturday, October 27, while some marched for peace, our Northern California members joined a ceremony in San Francisco honoring the 62nd Birthday of the United Nations.

We were one of several groups sponsoring this event, which included comments from CA UN Association President, Astrid Stromberg, and keynote from Dr. Marvyn Silverman, former President and current member of Board of Trustees for American Foundation for AIDS Research, and comments by Kim Weichel, President of SF/Marin UN Association.

With national flags and banners flapping in the breeze, Peace Alliance supporters from the greater Bay Area gathered to honor the momentous humanitarian efforts of the UN. Downtown San Francsico, the first home of the UN, never looked better!
