Social Workers Toolkit Cites Department of Peace Print E-mail
It's official! The November issue of the national newsletter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) has an article about the newly published National Association of Social Workers "Peace Policy Toolkit," which references the Department of Peace.

See page 109 of this 135 page booklet HERE.

Brandi and I had been pushing NASW endorsement of DOP for several years now, more recently with the help of our allies from the Social Welfare Action Alliance, notably Moya Atkinson and Anne Anderson (who wrote the Toolkit introduction) with whom I networked on the Department of Peace at the SWAA conference last summer in New Orleans.

While this is not an official endorsement, it sets the stage for that to come! This milestone was long in coming and involved persistent, often frustrating hard work because it wasn't always self-evident to NASW -- like it was to us -- that the Department of Peace was completely compatible with the NASW Code of Ethics.
