Labor Day in North Carolina Print E-mail

About 15 members of the Dept of Peace Advocates of Henderson County took part in their local Labor Day parade as part of the annual Apple Festival in Hendersonville, North Carolina. That's activist Holly Demuth marching in the parade.

This was the group's second year as a parade participant.

This year's theme was "United We Stand" -- the sign you see on the side of the van. They hired a local couple to play the fiddle/guitar in a cart behind the van, which also had an apple tree in it with peace doves cut out.
