Friday, August 10, San Diego

TO PROMOTE PEACE AND RAISE FUNDS FOR
LOCAL AND NATIONAL DEPARTMENT OF PEACE CAMPAIGN

Buy Tickets now! www.afdop.org

Americans For a Department of Peace will host “Voices Of Peace,” a Benefit Concert, on Friday, August 10, 2007 at The Unity Center in San Diego.  Featured will be four prominent locally-performing, internationally-known groups, as well as a silent auction.  A LaDainian Tomlinson and Reggie Bush autographed football from Super Bowl XLI, compliments of NFL-partnered Motorola, will be auctioned off live during the intermission.  Also to be auctioned live is a one-week stay at a private, 4-bedroom estate in Princeville, Kauai, Hawaii.  This 4500 square foot, 2-story home is named Hululani, which means “Heavenly.”

The line-up for this inspirational event includes:  Karl & Jeanne Anthony, Cahill & Delene, Joe Rathburn and Peter Bolland of The Coyote Problem.  These legendary musicians are donating their valuable time and extraordinary talents to this event in support of The Peace Alliance and its campaign to establish a cabinet-level U.S. Department of Peace.

Singer-songwriter Karl Anthony writes anthems for life and Jeanne Anthony interprets Karl’s meaningful lyrics with an alluring Sign Language performance. This dynamic husband and wife team use their talents as a vehicle to connect people to their spirit.  Husband and wife Barry Cahill and Delene St. Clair perform as a duo and with The Hot Pursuit Band singing songs that center around important and meaningful topics.  Their original music motivates and inspires others in peace.

Singer/songwriter/guitarist Joe Rathburn is a lifetime musician.  His music instills in the listener a belief that we can all evolve out of our current earthly woes and into a better world together.  Singer-songwriter-guitarist Peter Bolland, along with bassist Billy Fritz and drummer Danny Cress form the core of The Coyote Problem.  Their music draws us into a celebration of the joys and pains of life. Peter Bolland will be performing solo for this event.

Funds from this benefit concert will support both the local activities of Americans For a Department of Peace (AFDOP), as well as the national organization, The Peace Alliance.  Proceeds to AFDOP will help purchase outreach supplies and entrance fees for events, including expenses for teens and adults to attend conferences and trainings, speaker and event expenses.  Proceeds to The Peace Alliance will be used for lobbying and publicity training, as well as to help maintain their Washington, D.C. office.

In addition, proceeds to The Peace Alliance Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, will be used to support roundtables, peace building white papers highlighting effective programs, and support of the U.S. participation in the Global Alliance for Ministries and Department of Peace.  Additional information about the legislation currently before Congress (H.R. 808) can be found on both AFDOP’s web site at www.afdop.org or by visiting The Peace Alliance site at www.thepeacealliance.org.
