North Carolina Student Walk-A-Thon
Students from Asheville turned their walk-a-thon into a local fundraiser so they could get themselves started as a Student Peace Alliance Chapter. This report, by way of North Carolina Department of Peace Campaign state coordinator Laura Sorenson, is from Daniel Pinelli, the 15-year-old who did most of the organizing with his mom.

After hearing Senator Barbara Boxer of California was seriously considering sponsoring the Department of Peace bill in the Senate, Carlsbad High School students decided to launch a postcard campaign to show Sen. Boxer that California constituents want to see the bill in the Senate.
