New York City Council
Exiting news everyone! New York City is poised to join eighteen other cities, including, Chicago, Detroit, & Atlanta in endorsing federal legislation to establish a cabinet level Department of Peace and Nonviolence. Please join me, along with New York City Councilmember Rosie Mendez; Executive Director of the Peace Alliance, Dot Maver; and others, on the steps of City Hall, Wednesday, November 29th , at 11AM for a press conference to introduce this historic City Council Resolution. Programs initiated by the Department of Peace will greatly reduce violence in our schools, streets and homes and help make our city a safer more desirable place to live.
